Guest guest
Hi, Yea, I've been thinking for years she has an allergy. Everyone else in our famiy does, so why not the cat? Those little Yorkies can get lots of things. In fact, any pure bread dog gets way more health problems than a mutt. I actually almost got a Yorkie a couple years ago. I wanted a lap dog, a cuddly one cause I was feeling so bad and pretty depressed. But, we ended up with a Border Collie off a sheep farm near where we lived in England. I just couldn't resist when I saw her at 2 months old. She a great sourvineer from England! I was hoping to do agility and flyball with her. I did agility with my American Eskimo (I think you call them Japanese Spitz over there. They do in England) but he's too old now. Turns out, my Border Collie, Stella, has hip dysplasia. I saw her mom, who was a working dog on the farm, and they said her dad was from the next farm over, and he also works the sheep. But, she's got it all the same. Both hips. She started showing signs at just 3-4 months old. So, now she's 4 years old, and even though she wants to play all day, she gets real sore and limps if she plays too much. The vet told me that with border collies, even the ones who have bad hips can still work the sheep, just because of the way they are. So, one of her parents has it, but they probably don't know, cause they keep going and going and going - like the energizer bunny. Anyway, Stella is pretty mellow for a border collie. But, she's the best dog ever, and so smart we think she understand English. She watches tv (her favorite channel is Animal Planet) and whenever someone on tv with a British accent comes on, she goes right up to the tv. It's the weirdest thing. Like she knows. She also seems to know when they show the English landscape on tv. Like she's thinking " Ah, my homeland! " It's so funny! So, you've got a dog who matches your health symptoms, and so do I. Bad hips. When I'm feeling bad, and just lying around, Stella is right there with me. Like she knows. She's the greatest dog ever. Now, my daughter wants to get this dashaund / chiuaua mix. Her best friends dogs just had puppies. When the mom was born, the litter was early and very small, and the mom was very sick. was over there spending the nights, taking turns with the owners bottle feeding them. This happened just weeks before her friend died. It her her family who had the dog. So, I guess there is some sort of connection to her friend there, and she really wants one of those puppies. Just what I need, another dog. I've got 2, and a cat. I know a dog is a good thing for a teenager, but I'd probably end up being the one to care for it. It should be cute. The chiuaua dad is a long hair, and the dashaud in a short hair, and they are both so cute. I doubt my husband would go for another dog, though. Oh, dogs. They are like our children, aren't they? They sure do make us happy. All us who have chronic health problems should have dogs or cats. They don't care if we lay around all day, ar in a bad mood, don't want to do anything, or can't do anything. They are just so happy being our friend. Maybe I will get that puppy..........................
