Guest guest
She said if it was the only way to get it adjusted since our local dr saying it would put our son's health at risk to travel, that we would have to fed ex it. This is his second helmet with them, and she has been the only person adjusting it for the majority of the appointments so she is going to judge it by what I've told her on the phone and all her previous experiences with his adjustments. So, that's how she's doing it this time, but she did stress that she hopes he's better and able to make it to his next appointment because she doesn't like doing it by mail. In a pinch though, this should work as a one time deal. I will have to relay to her how it fits when its returned to us. I just pray they diagnose Caleb by our next flight, and that we will get the thumbs up to continue our appointments in Ohio...!!! >> Well, its been months since I've been able to post. I am flying > Caleb, our son, back and forth for all of his cranial tech > appointments in Ohio. Caleb is on his 2nd cranial tech DOC Band > now, and has gone from 24mm off to 13mm off. He's been in this 2nd > band for a month or so now. He's doing wonderful. He wears it 23 > hours a day, and haven't had any problems till now. Last week he > went to a well baby appointment, and passed with flying colors. > He's on target, healthy as an ox, doing well in everything. The > problem is he picked up a bug at the clinic. Not just any old > virus. We've been at the ER all weekend with him, and Monday they > ran tests and said something is wrong with his white cell count. > They have given him 4 shots of antibiotics now, and his fever is > finally gone, but his white cell count has the doctors puzzled. > They absolutely point blank said NO TRAVELING. I explained it was > for medical appointment for his band, but they said this was more > important that plagio even. So, I called cranial tech in Ohio and > cancelled our appointment this week. Called and cancelled our > flight. When I called cranial tech however, they said was not > in to let me know what to do about his band. I'm not sure if I > should take it off until our next appointment. I know he can't wear > it while he's having fevers and sick, but wonder about it not being > adjusted. Will it hurt his skull not being adjusted this week? We > already have 5 or 6 flights scheduled for his future appointments > for adjustments in Ohio and can't swtich them all for missing this > week. The thing is the doctors do not want Caleb traveling at all > especially by plane for the next week and a half till they retest > his white cell count again to find out what is happening. So, I'm > nervous. I'm so use to Caleb having his helmet on 23 hrs a day that > its SCARY to have him not wearing it. He's already banged his head > once on the couch, and we have all wood floors throughout. I'm > scared he's going to hit his head. I want him to be able to wear > the helmet, but not sure if they are going to let him. With the > dr's here not letting me travel, I'm not sure what is going to > happen with his helmet since we have to miss this adjustment. It'll > basically make it a whole month between adjustments since we go > biweekly and were due to fly today. Has anyone been through this? > I don't know that I'll hear back from at Straight Ahead > (cranial tech clinic in Ohio) till tomorrow, and I'm wondering what > she'll suggest I do while Caleb's sick and we can't make it for this > week's adjustment. Thanks, PS Are we allowed to post our > family plagio web site link here?
