Guest guest
The fact of the matter is that for many babies the deformity is obvious and continues to be obvouis. I'm sure not everyone who notices the deformity is going to say something about it. There is a good chance that it will not grow out on its own. My bestfriends step son is 10 years old and has unresolved plagio and torticollis. He is called " squished head " by his peers and it is very noticable. I'm sure that he would have wanted to wear a helmet for 4 months when he was an infant in order to avoid this torment. Most kids do very well with adjusting to wearing a band and some do not need to adjust at all. My son has had 3 bands and is now being casted for his 4th. The first 2 were ill fitting and the 3rd was the BEST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE. His head is so much better than it was. We held a fundraiser and raised $8000. We had to pay out of pocekt for all the travelling we had to do. Everyone was very supportive. Banding your child is not punishment we are lucky to have this treatment as an option. Haylee mom to andre 21 months tort/doc band #1 22/11/05 / doc band #2 coming soon, & Lesly 21 months & gt; & gt; Hi, my name is and my son's name is Evan. We had Evan's nine & gt; month ped visit yesterday and finally after six months of being told & gt; his head would round out by itself, we were given the recommedation to & gt; contact Cranial Tech. Problem being, the closest one is in Phoenix and & gt; I simply don't think we can afford the visits back and forth so often. & gt; I am really looking for some suggestions here. I looked at the page & gt; that gave resources for places in Colorado but I don't really & gt; understand who or > what those people are and do. For those of you from & gt; Colorado who have made the many trips out to Phoenix, can I ask how & gt; many visits you had to make and an approximately how much it cost. & gt; & gt; If there is any way we can have his head worked on without having to & gt; travel we might have some hope. I think he would benefit from this & gt; tremendously and I pray that all hope is not lost but I'm thinking & gt; that although our insurance will cover at least a portion of this, & gt; unless we win the lottery we may never be able to afford to do this & gt; otherwise. I am open to any advice. Thanks for listening. & gt;
