Guest guest
Dear Buds, Most of us have bemoaned the fact that we did not do this sooner. Maybe our bods wouldn't have gotten all loose and saggy and required all this reconstructive stuff... maybe we could have done more professionally... maybe, maybe, maybe. However, I look at it like this... I am rising to my peak. All my other buds are just going down from 40... heck... I am better than when I was in my 20's. I feel great about being 47... 48 in April. I feel like a babe. I enjoy being able to exercise. I am really big time into clothes. And, honey... though happily married... I am truly enjoying all this attention from admiring ole middle aged men. Yup... life is good. If this had happened any sooner, I would be bemoaning getting old and fat. But not me... I am celebrating getting babalicious. Just my take on it, Okie
Guest guest
You better believe it, girl friend! I don't worry about what I didn't do in the past.....I'm too busy celebrating my future! It's been a long road for me, I had my rny in May of 98 and I've been trying to hit my personal goal for the past three years. I lost 140lbs. in one year and then stalled about 30lbs. short of goal and then I gained 10lbs. But, now that I've cut out the simple carbs, I'm losing again and if I stay on course (2-3lbs. a week), I should make my goal by the end of this may. I'll be a size 14! I'm already a babe at my current size 18....down from my former size 30/32 tents. But, I want it all! I want to slip into that size 14 little black dress.....and I will! It's going to be fantastic summer! I'm thinking shorts...wouldn't that be a hoot? I haven't worn shorts since I was in junior high! Look out world......here I come...... Guest guest
I have one thing to add. I hardly dated in my 20's & 30;s - too obese and too depressed. But I met my husband at 38, during a thin period, and we've been happily married, through thick and thin (!!) for 10 years.....Now, here's the funny part. All those years while I was sitting home alone, my friends were running around doing the singles scene, in relationships, or getting married. So here we are 10 years later. I'm thin and happily married. Several friends are divorced. Several approaching 50 burned out. We get together and all they talk about is how hard it is to meet men and how their bodies are sagging. And I sit there quietly, because I have a great man, and a new, great body. Who ever said all good things come to those who can wait, really knew what she was talking about!!!!
