Guest guest
Dear Sharon: Actually, Naomi makes it very clear that the reason she doesn't talk real openly about hep c on leno and letterman is because they don't want to hear about that....it's not fun and funny.....but being on the shows keeps her in the limelight a bit so she can continue to talk about it in other situations and raise money for the fight against it....I think some of you are being a tad harsh....my interpretation of her words, not rumors about her words, is that she gives credit to all avenues that have led her to being " well " now......medicine, nutrition, complimentary treatments, and PRAYER......I think we can all learn a little compassion and generosity by going through this disease...none of us really know what's going on in her personal life....shouldn't we give her the benefit of the doubt....I think she comes across as a lovely, kind, and compassionate person. Haven't been able to check my mail for a while and was frankly a little bit surprised at all the Naomi trashing....We've got to keep going in positive directions....this is negative....it's not what this forum is for. Thanks. Diane

Guest guest
Yeah, I've seen Naomi's site on the web. But she is the spokesperson for the ALF, is she not? Why not do some PSA's on TV? How about a benefit concert? It doesn't have to be big. She's just not out there enough. I think she should step down from the ALF. She's just not committed. Guest guest
Diane, I like your attitude. And I agree with you that no one knows another's situation and it's easy to assume the worst. Guest guest
I'm reading Naomi's letter... interesting She says " In addition, I go out of my way to contact the leading liver transplant surgeons such as those at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas. " Boy ... does that make ME feel good! My gastro is at Baylor and I've heard he is one of the top hep gastros in the nation and many of my friends are on transplant lists or travel to Dallas to get their livers at Baylor. I wish Naomi knew how to paragraph and date stuff. She says " I spend time visiting with patients who are awaiting liver transplants like Hope House in Dallas and those who have been the receivers. " I will have to learn more about Hope House. I am on the board of a local adult social organization (adults who like to get together with no liquor or drugs) and we started taking donations of a dollar or more at the door for charity. Perhaps this is a place it can go. Thanks for the url. alley/ ICQ 12631861 alleypat@... http://www.flash.net/~alleypat
Guest guest
Naomi, Yes, from August 1999 to July 2000 I lost over 40 pounds scale weight. I started at around 38% body fat (this could be off because testing method was BIA) and ended at 14.5% body fat (that one I know is more accurate. It was with hydrostatic weighing). Cheryl C. Guest guest
I do restorative work at a nursing home locally. And I love it love it love it sooo much! Did have the stuff taken in -- the price I wanted for my soap (I cut corners close too) was more then the lady was willing to pay -- she was selling someone's lye soap for the same price. I was more peeved that someone was underselling themselves like that (not charging for labor) then about not getting the sale. Oh well. Her loss. Guest guest
Thank you so much for praying for Kaitlyn. She had a spinal tap on Tuesday which reveled a normal cerebral spinal fluid pressure! But, we are still awaiting the lab results. We were given the ok to resume wearing her helmet! They're now wondering if there is a congenital defect of the optic nerves called pseudopapilledema (Nerves that are unusually small and elevated occur when the scleral opening of the posterior globe is small. As a result, axons must squeeze through a smaller opening, leaving little or no room for a physiologic cup.) - which can lead to modest visual compromise and visual field defects. We will await the final test results before going forth with a diagnosis of pseudopapilledema. I will update as soon as we get the results. Take Care, Naomi Naomi Hi! I keep thinking of your little girl. Have you heard anything yet concerning her reports? I have been away for about 2 weeks and put myself on daily digest and was wondering if you had heard. Praying for her! Blessing, Pam<><
Guest guest
That is great news with the cerebral spinal fluid pressure and her getting to start her helmet again! You have one strong little girl. My middle son had to go through a spinal tap when he was a baby and it is not fun at all. Will keep praying for her. Keep us posted ~ Blessings, Pam<>< Naomi Hi!
