Guest guest
Good evening everybody. I'm new here, but I have read from someone that using longer needles gives better results in lowering blood sugar levels. Now I think I know what my problem has been all along. So, I had been doing some research, and I found out that if you're overweight, using a longer needle will get better results. Well, I'm overwight. Hell! I'm going to cut to the chase and be honest here. At 5 ft. 6 in. and weighting 300 pounds I'm absolutely OBESE with a very generous amount of belly fat, so I most definitely need to use a longer needle. Right now, when I inject myself, I don't even bother to " pinch an inch " , I just stick the needle straight in and I'm good to go. With all the thick layers of fat that I have on my body, I could certianly use a longer needle. Thanks for the info, boy and girls! I really appreciate that! Guest guest
If your doctor agrees to change your needle length, please post and let us know if it made any difference, and now much of a difference it made. Guest guest
My numbers are fairly good (generally under 140) but I take 85 units of insulin twice a day (and some sliding scale as well)... I'm just curious if I might use less insulin. Mike > > Mike I got longer needles from my doctor and my numbers have gone down > from 300 to 161. longer needles do make a difference. i know it did me.
