Hi everyone,

I just have to share some good news that I just received! Our son,

who is 29 and single, has gotten a job! He was laid off from his job

around 2 years ago, and since he couldn't find work, he volunteered

with the Jesuit Volunteer Corp and was stationed in Tacoma, WA for a

year, working for Habitat of Humanity. He received a stipend of $100

a month. Then after his year there, he decided to volunteer in Nepal

for a couple months and tour Thailand for a month before returning

home to Omaha to job hunt.

At lunch time today, he brought me a bouquet of flowers and said that

I had been his biggest supporter, and thanking me for all my support.

He will be working at Midlands Lutheran College in Fremont, NE, which

is only 1/2 hour drive from our home. for now, I believe he will

commute to work until he decides exactly where he wants to live. The

benefits are wonderful for him, and the wage was within his desired

goal. I had been telling him (and his father, who tends to be very

pessimistic) that God surely had a plan in mind for him, and to be

patient, listen to his heart, and God will lead him to where he

belongs.

I know many of you who are reading this are going through some very

hard times of your own, and believe me when I tell you, that you all

are included in my thoughts and prayers, and I will NOT forget you.

It's just that I was so very excited, and so touched that he thought

to bring me flowers, that I just HAD to share with my family! :)

I've turned to many of you, recently, whining about MY problems, and

I want you to know how I appreciated being included in YOUR thoughts

and prayers, and that it is what got me through everything lately,

including the Mayo clinic trip with my husband. By the way, in

regards to him, he has begun Ritilin for the Narcolepsy now, and is

doing much better! YEA!! So THANK YOU, all of you, for everything

you've done for me and my family!

This is great news!

Times are so bad right now.

My sister, who is an accountant, has been out of work for over 2 years. Just

can't find a job anywhere.

And, my brother, who is a software architect and very experienced, has been out

of work for over a year.

It just a terrible time, for everyone.

I'm so happy for your son. What a relief for you as well! And good for you for

standing by him all that time. Now you know how much he appreciates it all!

And, how much he loves you!

I know my kids feel that way about me, but I'm waiting for the time when they

actually show it.

You are a lucky mom!

Thanks so much, ! Yes, I consider myself to be a VERY lucky

Mom!

You are so right - things are bad everywhere, and not looking up that

much yet! I pray for all those who are out of work - it's such a

worry! At least Cort didn't have a famiy to support! I really worry

for those who are supporting a family. Something really needs to be

done to improve our economy, and soon!

Thanks again for your reply, and I will pray for your family!

Lana, wonderful news! and flowers too?! Sounds like you've done a good job

raising that boy. Jobs are so hard to find right now. We all need to hear the

good stuff to. I can't wait for my 18 year old to find one <G> He's draining my

pennies! Cindy C.

Thank you, Cindy! Actually, he was a pleasure, and very easy to

raise! He was an exceptional student, could have been or done

anything he put his mind to. We sort of worried when he chose art,

as there aren't a lot of things out there for them - but I'm a firm

believer in people being happy in what they're doing, so I always

told him to go for his dream if money wasn't real important to him.

Your son's time will come - and when it does, it will probably seem

too soon! Parents! Can you ever make them happy?!? LOL!

I appreciate your reply! Hope Dylan is feeling better today!

Yes, I do! Personally, I don't know what I'd do without faith! There

wouldn't be much to look forward to in my opinion. Thanks Deb, for your reply!
