Guest guest
Hey, Cheryl, and all of Miz 's other friends and fans... I was able to get through briefly on the phone tonight. She spent a lot of time in the car, going home, which is usually a 10-minute trip. And was living by candlelight. The phone cut out before we finished (and it wasn't a cell phone) but she and husband were fine, I think. Inconvenienced, annoyed, but fine. I have no doubt that they will both be functioning again as soon as the rest of their part of the world is, as well. My sympathies to the rest of you who may be putting up with the loss of power. I was in the blackout of '65, and it was scary. Cammie surgerysupport , " cshecmia " wrote: > Hi, > > I don't suppose you can get on-line seeing as you're probably without > power. Guest guest
Thanks, Cammie, Good to know she's okay, if hot. We were without power for six weeks after Hurricane , so I can relate. Cheryl
Guest guest
I find myself posting redundantly (can't always remember where I stopped and started... Brittle synapses again, I reckon...) so I cleaned up my act a bit. I remember . That must have been the worst. But I also remember Frederic, which was the worst I've been through, and Camille, which was pretty nasty, even though it hit at a bit of a distance from us. Guest guest
Hey Cammie, I was going to call , but you beat me to it. I live about an hour south from her. The power is slowly being restored around here. Some people may have to wait a few more days before getting electricty. cheers, on
Guest guest
How you doing, on? All ok? Try her again, and see if you can get through... We had maybe 30 seconds on line, and then blip... She was gone. I'm hoping it's cooler there than here! Sounds like Toronto, alas, is shut down again. You guys have had too much to bear in one year. Guest guest
Hi Cammie, I spoke with 's hubby today and they are fine. Their ISP is down so they have no internet. Everything is under control for Ontario with the exception of a few localized outages. Obligatory orthognathic update: 14 weeks post op and everything is good so far cheers, on > > Hey Cammie, > > I was going to call , but you beat me to it. I live about an > > hour south from her. Guest guest
Whoopee! on... It (your mouth and jaws) should only get better from here! I talked with Miz Fiddly, too, and they sound happy and well. But it sounds, alas, as though Ontario is bombarded with difficulties this year. They are conserving energy like crazy, to try to share with others. Not that I mean to discourage anybody from doing anything, but hey -- I've been in the aftermath of hurricanes Frederic and Camille, and that ain't where I wanna be. I hope somebody will find a patch right quick that will get things back up to the usual state of function. Cammie Thanks for the post, too! > Hi Cammie, > > I spoke with 's hubby today and they are fine. Guest guest
I'm baaaaaack! Thanks for your concern. I feel fortunate in that the power went off just as I was completing my visit to the dentist (cusp repair, power cleaning). I wasn't even able to pay my bill as everything went down, but they caught up with me the next day :< The power came back on after about 18 hours, and then we joined lineups for gas, $$$ and groceries. Power went off later as the municipal hydro did random blackouts in order to share power. I feel sorry for the garbage collectors this week as I'm sure many people like us had to throw out a lot of the contents of their refrigerators. When in doubt, throw it out! We enjoyed the peace and quiet of it all, lit candles, read books, thought about how to conserve electricity (and where to buy old- fashioned phones and handcrank radios), and enjoyed the most spectacular night sky I have ever seen in my life on Thursday, as there were no city lights to get in the way. Every once in awhile, we'd check our internet connection, but it was always down. It may still be, I'm not certain. Today I'm at work, but trying to conserve again - we've been asked to use about 50% of our normal electrical demands as the supply may be unstable this week. I tried to tell my boss I'd stay home today, but he wouldn't hear of it .... Hope everyone is doing well. > Hi, > > I don't suppose you can get on-line seeing as you're probably without > power.
