Guest guest
I just got my son fitted with his starband helmet. I was disappointed because they had told me it would be a cute design. Well, it's just plain white. I would like to paint it and maybe put some stickers on it. Does anyone have any advice on what type of paint works best on these helmets? Also, any cute ideas for decoration would be great! Thanks le Eramo Olathe Kansas Luke 11 months old (1 day in helmet)
Guest guest
We have a friend that paints helmets professionally and actually does the Andretti helmets, so he did ours for my son in Andretti racing theme.. You can find the photos under the photo link under plagio babies J, ('s helmet) the last page... or try this link:http://health.ph./group/Plagiocephaly/photos/view/cb4d?b=132 Anyway he used some pretty expensive paint on this, but I was told you can go to home depot and get something, I just forget the name for the base, then use airbrush acrylics for the design with clear over the top. Anyway what state are you in cause I have a few names of artists here that do it, but the one that did mine will not do anymore. He only did it for us as a favor. Anyway let me know if you want the other names, one of them can tell you the correct paint to use. GL>> I just got my son fitted with his starband helmet. Guest guest
Yes krylon is the stuff I was also told to use as a base, my artist friend used something else, but I know that works great as a base. Guest guest
Hi le, My son Noah has had his STARband for just over a month now, and we decorated it following the instructions in the decorating file that can be found in the Files section. We painted with acrylic paint, varnished, and put stickers on it, and I think it turned out really well. You can see a picture in the photo section under Our Plagio Babies-N/Noah P-North Carolina. At 3 weeks, we repainted and redecorated with fish stickers. Hopefully I'll get a pic of that posted soon! I think having the band decorated really helps with the comments and staring thing. All we've really gotten is comments on how cute the band looks. Good luck! -Amy mother to Noah, 8 months, STARbanded 3/17/06 > > I just got my son fitted with his starband helmet.
