Hi Brodie's mom,

We too had a bit of trouble with our pediatrician. We noticed his odd

head shape from birth. She kept telling us that it would round out as

he got older. Of course it didn't. When we finally told her we weren't

seeing any improvement, she said that maybe he has a mild case. We

finally got the referral and found out that he was not mild. His ears

were off a bit due to this. He got his band at 6 mos and had no

problems keeping the helmet on. He never even noticed it being there

at first. Unfortunately now our problem is that he has become attached

to his helmet. He cries if we take it off.

To your question about the rude remarks or stares, I never let it

bother me. There will always be ignorant people out there, or should I

say uneducated people when it comes to why these kids have bands on.

I will say that banding my son has been the best decision we have

made. I would do it all over again if we had to.

Dear Suzanne, Thanks for the support. It's so great

to be able to talk to other moms going through the

same stuff. Thank you for our words of support!
