Guest guest
No, I'm not. I heard that milk causes diarrhea. I think I'm going to try Tender Vittles in the pouches for Gypsy and that will probably solve the problem. She just doesn't love the hard food, so I want to give her something that's tasty. The way I see it, I wouldn't like it if I were a cat and didn't have anything yummy to eat, so I try treating her the way I would want to be treated. That no-name canned food probably wasn't the best choice, but it was cheap, of course ($0.29/can). If I decide to stick to the canned stuff, I'm going to buy Whiskas and mix it in with her hard kitten food, so she'll have a little help for her teeth. You all wouldn't believe how much this cat is adored!! Seriously. And she cuddles up to me every chance she gets. I love it! I often ask Kirk what we did before having her. LOL. Just like a kid.... Guest guest
Good advice, Vicki. Thankyou. That's actually what I was considering doing. Keeping the hard kitten chow in her bowl throughout the day and giving her one meal of the Whiskas. This food/diarrhea dilemma is driving me nuts. I keep researching and every time I read something new, I change my mind. LOL. Sorry if I talk to much about Gypsy.....she's my newest love. ) Dawn anzavic@... wrote: > Hi Dawn... > > I also used Whiskas (sp?) on my cats. Guest guest
Does she still have the diarrhea? Is it very loose or somewhat loose.. (sorry folks) A quick change in food will also cause it but I found that the really cheap brands of food aren't the best. I can tell you what I use to do when any of my cats were sick and had the runs.... Ok, everyone else close your ears.... I don't want you to think I'm really a bad person. I would cook a chicken for them. Then peel off the meat and you have a meal for them for a few days and they love the gizzards.... Of course, this will spoil her to no end. I'm like you, I don't think animals should stick to just one thing day in and day out. They wouldn't if they were wild. I need to find the article that vet wrote...what an eye opener. Guest guest
I always add flavoring to all my dogs food. Usually left overs mixed in, or gravy mixes stuff. I found especially for young tummys that a little works best, it gives them a chance to get used to different things. The main food is always the dry food, we use Iams, it is good for their teeth. Many people have started the BARF diet, I worry to much about bacteria and parasites to do that though. Hope kitty is better. One of my poms is chewing on a bone right now that is almost as big as he is. These are those special bones that don't splinter but are good for the teeth. It looks so funny when he tries to move it around he has to drag it. My pom not quite 5 pounds. Cindy & Willow(SDIT) DAWN - CAt > > > Does she still have the diarrhea? Guest guest
You know, I read that on another site to give them cooked chicken. Also eggs. I'd never thought of either one of them. She seems to be doing better now. No more diarrhea, thank goodness (especially not on my floor!!!) I haven't been able to get to town to get her some Whiskas, but will do so tomorrow. Guest guest
How cute!!! I guess I'm not sure what a pom looks like. Sounds very cute, though.
