Hi everyone,

I am two weeks post op now. Im finally starting to feel like time

is flying by now that I'm going out more. I had a few quick

questions:

1) does anyone in this group have a fake teeth appliance in right

now (like fake teeth attached to braces or something like that)? I

am missing my right front tooth and the one next to it due to a

tumor when I was 6 years old, and bc I have a splint in right now my

orthodontist said he couldnt put anything in to look like i have

teeth. I have to have the splint for another 4-6 weeks, and I'm

wondering if anyone was in my same situation who has any suggestions

I could tell the doc. I go back to the oral surgeon next wed., and

im hoping he can be more creative :-)

2)has anyone in here had teeth implants? supposedly after this heals

for approx a year and I get a bone graft Im supposed to get my

braces off and implants in. I was wondering what the process is, and

how happy ya'll were with them.

Thanks for the help :-) I hope everyone is recovering ok!

Hi , I still have my front teeth, but am going to loose them

in the near future. Upper front 4 and lower front 4. I will be

getting the bone grafts as well as the implants, eventually. I don't

think they can put " fake " teeth in with the splint, but was told that

the retainer can be made with them. Not much comfort to you right now

though. I am interested in what others have to say about front

implants too....~Cindy~

I'm two weeks post-op, but before surgery I had a flipper like you

that was attached to my braces. My orthodontist said he could figure

out anything to do to put teeth in since the splint was in the way,

but I have an appt on monday with the oral surgeon and I'm hoping he

can be creative :-) ITs kind of frustrating since I go back to

school on Monday and its become noticable since the swelling has

gone down. I decided against a bridge because I've heard implants

last longer. That was my whole purpose for getting this surgery, bc

my doctor told me they wouldnt stay in if i didnt get my upper jaw

fixed. i'm hoping to get them by next summer, bc I want my braces

off and everything done before my 21st birthday next September.

Good luck with your surgery!
