Pete - In the article you shared with us (thanks), it refers to illnesses which are caused by drinking, rather than drinking being the illness. As you probably know, there has been discussion on this site about "alcoholism" being a disease - I read somewhere that the US is the only country in the world that recognizes it as such which lends credence to the discrediting of that theory. Totally forgot about that little item of trivia - Too busy trying to bolster the disease concept, so why would I want to remember?

it may be costing britain 3 billion, but thats 3 billion going into the

treatment and health care industry, which i bet they arent to

upset about. not to mention that 3 billion is probably offset by

profits of the alcohol industry enjoy form those heavy drinkers

pumping money back into the economy
