Guest guest
My son and I bought and tried some chocolate soymilk today. Pretty good stuff. I buy regular fat free milk for Special K protein cereal in the mornings some time but I can't go through a gallon fast enough and it goes bad. I'm not really sure soymilk is all that better for me protein wise either but it seems like it can be if it's not so terribly sweetened. I'd be interested in thoughts on this (numbers are good too). My son isn't happy with the calories and stuff of the milk he drinks at his school lunch. How weird that a kid would care about that. Cool though. I told him I'd look for individual containers of soymilk. If anyone has access to those, chocolate or vanilla preferred, then I'd be interested. Low fat, low sugar best of course. I started even going as far as to investigate soy milk makers and large orders of soy beans (most seem to be organic not that I care about organic that much mind you). If anyone has recommendations for a soy milk maker with prices, soy beans where to buy them and prices, and any recipes I'd be very interested in this too. The soy milk we bought had a date on it of Sept 2007. It's open now so I'm figuring it probably won't last that long but it is in the fridge. Anyone know how long this stuff lasts in the fridge. For that matter how the heck would I know if it goes bad? Does it mold, curddle, what? Maybe there are some specific soy forums you know of? I don't really care for vegetarian forums and even less for vegan ones but I will go there if they have specific information on this stuff. As you can see I've got a long way to go before I'm even a soy amateur. Thanks for any information you provide. Mike in GR
