Guest guest
My little Catie will be 4ms on the 20th. She got tort and plagio and repo hasn't been working. She's been approved for a band and will be going to CT on the 19th for a casting. Any advice? thanks, Lorri
Guest guest
Hi Lorri, The only advice I can think of at the moment, is look through the files on the casting process, so you know what to expect! I am so thankful I did or I'd have struggled even more. It was emotional but not nearly as bad as I think it would have been if I weren't prepared. And wear clothes you can get plaster on. Good luck to you and Catie! Amy (SC) On 4/12/06, childprotectionlaw <Lorri_Massa@...> wrote: My little Catie will be 4ms on the 20th. She got tort and plagio and repo hasn't been working. Guest guest
Hi Lorri, If you can hold off feeding her until it's time for her to be casted. That way she'll be busy eating while it's going on. It's over pretty fast and if she cries it won't be b/c they're hurting her. It'll be b/c she doesn't like being held in one place. Good luck and let us know how you make out. > > My little Catie will be 4ms on the 20th. She got tort and plagio and > repo hasn't been working. Guest guest
Hi Lorri! I would just suggest to bring a bottle/paci. Even if she doesn't usually take one...she might be so upset that she may! Also, I'd suggest wearing clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Other than that...just be prepared for a lot of crying, but the CT people have casting down to an art-it's over before you know it! Good luck! Guest guest
Here is information regarding casting for the DOC Band: Plagiocephaly/files/Casting%20process%20for%20the%20DOC%20Band/ I believe that the casting process is similar for the STARband and Hanger Band. However, some facilities now have a scanner for the STARband and Hanger Band so you don't have to go through the casting process. Views of the different bands: Plagiocephaly/files/Helmet%20and%20Band%20brand%20photos/ A chart comparing the DOC Band and STARband: http://f3.grp.fs.com/v1/gGiHRDuAirfJ1kDVCnbF8PffMBadDoJ0N2aFqzANteM-KnrRsnsRX-xUoJa4exl8tgjpIz45zCKN_fXaWlo6ZoLm7wvkg4dc/ComparisionChart.rtf Hope this helps!
