You would still have bowel movements as no food goes through this limb. Just a thought! Also what about ulcers in the unused/blind portion of the stomach? I wonder if an ultrasound would diagnose gallbladder disease, or just gallstones? The pain you describe sounds very much like my gallbladder attacks - which were not triggered by any particular food. Guest guest
Hi Sandi. I, too, was having pain and went to my doctor. The pain was occurring where my gallbladder used to be. The only thing the doctor could guess was an ulcer or some regurgitation due to the surgery. They put me on a pill called Protonix (1 40mg pill per day). The first time I took the meds for a month and noticed that if I didn't take it, the pain would come back, but if I took it daily I was fine. When I ran out, the pain started again and I went back to the doctor. They've now given me a 3 month supply and I've been taking it daily since. They seem to believe that the 3 month timeframe will allow my body to get back into shape. If I get the pain again after this round of treatment, I'll be going in for an upper GI series. Hope this helps.
Guest guest
I have arthritis in my left jaw joint, so that't likely part of my experience, but after surgery things really acted up for me. I couldn't sleep laying down because I'd inevitably wake up feeling like someone was sticking a sharp pencil into my head just in front of my left ear. It hurt terribly. My surgeon ended up putting me out for an in-office procedure called an artrhocentesis when I was seven weeks post-op. Arthrocentesis is just a big word for saying they flushed out my joint with saline and injected some anti- inflammatory drugs around my jaw joint. It helped immensely. Hope you feel better soon. > Hi everyone: I will be 3 weeks post-op on Wednesday. I was on > tylenol codeine until 8/1/03 and stopped taking it because I didn't > need it. Guest guest
Yes, my surgery was on July 10th, upper and lower and I still have relapses. It pulsates and sucks at the same time. Guest guest
Maggie- I'm really glad that the TENS unit is helping you with your muscle pain. I haven't found anything that helps or alleviates mine.
