Guest guest
Debbi, Hyaluronic acid can not be taken orally, it will not be absorbed, so said my rheumy and ortho. It is only of benefit when it is injected usually into the knee joint. On the message I just posted I called you Diane, sorry I meant Debbi, since I know we've written before. Hope this helps! Get some other opinions too. Sincerely, S. Anyone know about hyaluronic-acid ????? > Hey everyone~~ > > A friend of mine sent me this link... Guest guest
Hi Debbi If I am not mistaken this is what SYNVISC is. My OS wanted to try them in my knee but he couldnt offer any guarantees that they would work. From what i udnerstand is that they help by adding more lubrication into your joint and help to improve mobility and in turn reduce pain. For me, more mobility is not what I am looking for at all! My pain management doctor advised me not to get these done for two reasons 1) I had just started up a pain management treatment and wouldnt have been able to tell which medication/injection was working for me and 2) For me it was an injection that was goign to go right into the joint and he advised me to stay away from 'invasive' procedures. Dont know if this helps but thought I would add in my knowledge Stacey
