Guest guest
please someone correct me if I am wrong or educate me more if I am right: I think I read on this list that pain has something to do with blood sugar numbers. I have chronic pain that I take pain meds for (not narcotics) and am in nearly constant pain which I've learned to ignore over the years - except when my feet start suddenly hurting. Then I have pain flares which can last from hours to days before they subside. Can anyone tell me how this affects my BS readings? thanks JUDITH ---------- No virus found in this outgoing message. In fact any imflammation or swelling in the body will do the same. The body considers it a stress and reacts that way. Don't have the scientific explanation but in simple terms that's it. When I had my flu shot my arm hurt for a few days. During that whole time it hurt my BG was high. So it is important for whole body treatment and care in dealing with diabetes. It sounds like with all you have gone thru it contributed to getting diabetes in the first place. However, hope is there that if you can reverse any of these problems you can reverse the high BG problem too.
Guest guest
Would you believe that I was really very sick last night and in a lot of pain which of course sparked panic attacks left and right. I did everything I could think of to alleviate the sick and scared feeling and thought to take my BS. It was 105 - low not higher! I do everything backwards. Now I am really hungry but scared to eat. Can't figure out what to eat and not because of the diabetes, but because of being sick all last night and not feeling particularly good now either. But my dh had cataract surgery this a.m. and I have to be ok. Never fails. Whenever he needs me you can count on my getting sick or something stupid happening to me. stress?? HA! Guest guest
I think I am going to go to the old standby of Gerber Stage 1 baby food that i really don't mind eating. Good ol' chicken, and maybe greenpeas or carrots whatever is in the cubbord. Asked Dietician on appt today and she said that was fine when my stomach acted up. Just check the carbs and keep track, although we also discussed how this logging everything was stressing me out and we decided I should only keep a food journal now if I wanted to. I want to, not for carbs since I seem to have the hang of them now, but for calories until I get a better understanding about them and how to deal with food plans around them to loose weight.
