Hi Judith, I am not on meds, I don't count carbs, calories, etc. I eat what I want in small portions and my numbers are great most of the time. If I had to write down everything I ate, count every bite of food that I put in my mouth, I would be stressed to the limit and probably on several meds. Some people enjoy this type of record keeping and nothing wrong with that. Other people get very stressed having to keep records. Stress can do just as much damage as the wrong foods. You do whatever you feel is best to keep your numbers normal and your stress level down. hugs Eunice - I control diabetes; diabetes does not control me

Guest guest
It hasn't been a whole two months since I was told I had diabetes and I am ready to just plain give up with all the food logging, carb/cal counting etc and so forth. I see signature lines saying diabetes doesn't run my life but it sure does! Between trying to figure out what to eat, not eating what I want to eat, logging in for the dietician, etc etc, I am totally miserable. I am at the place that as a person with an eating disorder called compulsive overeating which means when I get upset I EAT, I don't even want any food. Barely had two meals yesterday and they were foods I used to like. Now there is nothing I particularly care to eat. Of course that will definitely help with BS#s I think but am not sure, and of course with loosing weight, but heck, not eating isn't a good way to deal with living. You have to eat to live. oh well. and I don't believe for one moment that I truly have diabetes even though I definitely have the symptoms. I think I believe that the prednisone and my weight gain over the past 2 years is what is causing the higher BS#s. They are running now between 80 (mainly 90) and 140 2 hrs after a meal such as it is. will talk to dietician again tomorrow and see what she has planned for me for meals. She said she was working on this now and when I emailed her last night, she responded this morning not to keep food logging with carbs/cals etc if it was stressing me. Yes indeedy it is stressing me. who ever heard of a compulsive overeater who didn't want to eat???!!! ok, thanks for listening to this vent - and no I am not in the river of denial! My BSs were high. now with a minor change in diet they aren't " normal " but they sure are not worrying me where they are at 2 hrs after eating and first thing in the a.m. and I haven't even been able to add exercise in just yet.
