Guest guest
I second a's advice. If the doctor prescribes you liquid Cleocin, you might want to ask if something else is available. I do get the impression that Cleocin has a reputation as being a super- duper antibiotic, which may be desireable when you have such a major surgery and mouth incisions. But ... I had it for my first surgery and it made my first weeks of recovery awful. It is not an exaggeration re: taste. After the first doses, I broke down in tears when my husband returned from the pharmacy with three HUGE bottles of the gunk. I asked him to call the surgeon after a few days asking for something else. The surgeon didn't and his staff told me to mix it with mango water ice. We did that and the flavor was still awful. Ruined mango water ice for me forever, I think. When I was contemplating a second needed surgery, I even told the surgeon that I wouldn't do another surgery if he gave me that damned Cleocin, and I was deadly serious. It was nauseating going down, very gaggy, and caused unbearable diaharrea, which a pharmacist said is a side effect, for an unGodly 23 days. It is the last thing you need on top of jaw surgery recovery. Second surgery I was given " the pink stuff " , bubblegum flavored forget what it's called. 12 days, not a problem. Guest guest
I was given good, old fashioned amoxicillin-pill form. After reading the post about this stuff, I am thankful I am allergic to all myacins and their derivitives! ~Cindy~ > > My advice on this one is DO NOT let your surgeon prescribe Cleocin > > liquid (antibiotic)!
