Everyone,

Probably a dumb question, but is a resectoscope the instrument used

for laser/electric current, etc.? I am trying to find out

everything I can about methods of hysteroscopy, and have found

references to the microscissors and also many about resectoscope.

Many articles onlin seem to speak of resectoscope as the preferred

choice. Only a few mention microscissors only, which is what I

understand to be the preferred method by all of you. I DON'T want a

resectoscope used, is this right??

Keri, no, this is not right, a resectoscope is perfectly okay to use and

has got nothing to do with laser or electrocautery.

It is a mechanical instrument which allows to resect structures. I have a

book on instruments used during a hyst.

This is no dumb question by the way.
