That letter can be written by your PT and signed by your Dr, or written by the Dr. PT accually hold a little more strength here. If/when you get a refussal letter, there will be appeal instrutions in the denial letter. Then follow through with the appeal. Dylan chair is going to be $10,000. We expect a refusal too but the appeal should win the battle. The can pay, they just don't want to. Cindy C.

Guest guest
Dear Cindy, You state you have Medicare. Along with Medicare comes Medicaid. You get Medicaid automatically without having to pay for it. I believe it is Medicaid that covers the durable medical equipment like power chairs. Of course I just read a news article yesterday saying how Medicaid/Medicare is going through a major overhaul on it's decisions to cover power chairs. Apparently they found there was a lot of fraud going on so in a typical knee jerk reaction they are making it almost impossible for people who really need them to get them. The Government along with the SS system are very concerned right now about how the heck they are going to cover all the baby boomers. This is what is fueling all these assaults on lifestyles they feel cost them too much money. It will also result in them really tightening their reigns. I wish you the best of luck! Hugs, B.
