Hi Kids,

Old Mom's back, a little shakey in the knees but still kickin".

First: OH CANADA, you was robbed!!!!! I hope they "go and do the right thing" as Dr. would say. Also Stoyko rules. He is a neat bundle of muscle just not pretty enough in his presentation, re: Plushenko last night in his long program. If you didn't see it, you should. Pure poetry. Allso Yagudin. But how about our Goebel with his million dollar smile.

Second: I have been following the list and almost all are doing fantastic except for my problem child a. a admires old Mom so much she is trying to be just like her and this is a big mistake. Mom is a notorious "cheater, cheater, biscuit eater" and should be put on a poster as who NOT TO BE LIKE!!! I am doing OK though. Gained a little while sick but am back on the program.

Joya, loved your beautiful poem and stationary and music. But you took me in with that "mishugahna" recipe and I'm going to have to punish you when I get down to Honduras of to Miami, whichever comes first. :o)))

Joanne, I sent you a lengthy post about colonics but it came back to me. I think it is my IPS that is faulty right now. Anyway, colonics are embarassing and dangerous, plus they wash all the good lining out of your intestines which is not necessary. I had a colon cleanse before I had my lower GI (not a colonic but castor oil and other things the day before) and I felt like a million dollars for about a week so it must have done some good but my lower body does not tolerate that abuse and kicks up and cramps and HURTS me doggone it, so just get a lot of roughage and fresh greens and you should be fine. Carbs and sugar and too much red meat mess up that part of you and you know you're on the right track if your BMs are regular and easy. If you get bound up eat more salad and DRINK THAT WATER.

So there, children, I have checked in and said my piece. I had a severe bladder and kidney infection on top of that stinkin' cold but am almost well now so don't worry about me any more.

And now we have a new Atkid to look forward too. Just look how the Sun is shining.

Hugs and warm fuzzies from your Mom Pudge, who feels better than she has in a month

Thanks, Sharon. And glad you are on the mend. I have not been "regular" since I started LC about 6 years ago. I have had waaay over 100 oz. water daily. I have had 2 salads daily with lots of the good veggies, but to no avail. It appears that without taters, rice, or bread, my system won't go on its own. I have now developed a high tolerance for the sugar alcohols, so they don't help anymore. I have been taking a fiber and herb suplement from GNC, which has been working. I really do not want to get hooked on anything, so I try different things. I wasn't sure if Colonics would be something good. I do not think I will be trying it. Again, I am glad you are posting again and doing better. Joanne

Howdy Dianne,

Good to hear from you and am so happy you are going to try the "tea experience". I would recommend you start with the "The Peoples Green Tea" which is great in the morning because it has caffeine (notice they have decaffienated teas also). I have a little Gevalia two cup coffee maker I use to make tea. Put the bags in the pot, not the top part, and let them steep for a while. Then sweeten with Splenda and sip, sip, sip. It gives you energy and also keeps you from wanting to snack.

Then I would suggest one of the Red African Teas, (I have Cederberg Organic) for the afternoon. They have no caffeine but are strong and robust and sip, sip, sip, no snacks. Well maybe one legal one like ham and cheese rollups or something like that. Make it the same way.

Then pick out one of the herb teas which also has no caffeine. I have "Desert Sage" but they are all good for some comforting sipping in the evening.

Green tea is supposed to work wonders on your immune system and help you lose weight. We'll see.

But in the meantime you will be enjoying yourself.

The little tea parcels are natural and bio-degradeble and have no staples so can go right down the disposal.

As far as Barb Asher is concerned, I had lunch with her Friday and she is doing fine. She was driving her car and walking with the aid of a walker and just popping along almost like old times. She is going to therapy three times a week and has moved into another house so her computer isn't hooked up yet but she can't wait to get back on line and talk to you all.

Love Mom Pudge, the Tulare County gossip column "o)))
