Girls, OMG, I can also so relate to your posts. I am 19 months out of the Roux

and about 20 pounds from ultimate goal, but generally pretty happy with my

results. I also have dropped off a couple of lists, (mainly cause no one will

talk to you if you are not part of " their surgery " click) and I have stopped

going to our local support meetings. I feel as thou I am fighting the " creepies "

as well. I have allowed too many of my old habits back. I do however beat the

heck out of my new treadmill, so again like you guys I have some good ones too.

I feel sometimes as though I wish it would all go away, having to worry about

supplements, protein, blood work, pains that pop up, yada yada yada.. uughh..

But most of my friends are WLSers and it is hard to start a conversation that

doesn't have something to do with .. " well because of the surgery this.... " I

did just want to live a normal life. But I also find myself craving to help that

woman on the street that is 400 pounds and can't walk 20 feet. I want to help.

Well, If you come up with any suggestions please clue me in cause I am lost

too.. Thanks.

Kari S.

My biggest suggestion is get involved again......when

I chose at 3 yrs post op to unsub from a lot of lists

and not go to meetings that was the beginning of the

end. When I isolate I feel alone, when I feel alone

the creepies come back and I am the only one and then

I had a major relapse and regained weight.

You see, if no one sees you eating, it doesn't count

right??? When I stopped participating I had no

*accountability* to anyone...

So. I have learned 2 things at almost 8 yrs post op...

1. If I choose to forget the past I am doomed to

repeat it

and

2. If I could have done this by myself, I would have

years ago..

Guess I will never be *normal* whatever that is....

Hugs and happy new year
