Guest guest
Again folks......the horse is beyond dead!!! Let's move on! This subject has nothing to do with WLS! Moderators....hasn't this gone on long enough? I for one am tired of the cussing and flaming. Considering that this list if for folks one year postop......I don't recall ever seeing the Spider Woman even HAD WLS!! Folks......get with the issues of daily living. We have so much more going on in our lives, more joys, blessings, stress and pains without having to deal with or buy into a thread like this. Take the high road......and remember what Mom said...If you can't say something nice.....don't say anything!! To quote from groups and the description of this list... ..........The primary goal of this list is to create an online community to serve the needs of people who are at least one year out from WLS and have passed the difficult pre-op and immediate post-op periods. ........Hopefully it will be a place for longer-term " Graduates " of WLS to meet and share issues that arise after at least one year has elapsed since surgery and real life begins to settle in. These might include issues like weight maintenance, body image, happy success stories, serious warning stories, long-term living ideas. .......To try to maintain a reasonable volume of mail and encourage " Graduates " to stay online, people considering surgery and those who are dealing with immediate post-op issues (less than one year out from surgery) MAY NOT POST TO THE LIST OR TO INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS, but may quietly lurk and listen. If at least one year has elapsed since your surgery and you wish to post, please send a message to the list introducing yourself. Include when you had your surgery and any other details you wish to share. I must say that it is YOU! I know personally people who call themselves Japanese americans and one of my good friends is a vietnamese american. Born in vietnam, raised here from the time she was 4yrs old. As far as the german or french american, I'm sure there are those that refer to themselves as that.. especially those that weren't born here, but now consider themselves to be american. One big difference between German/French americans and japanese/vietnamese/african (etc) americans is we can't HIDE the fact that we are different. The last time I checked, my brown-ness was PERMANENT. There is no 'secret code' going on here. What part of the NO did you not understand in NO BABY ergo NO BABY DADDY? Hell even with the misunderstanding, as I stated to another lady... none of you holier than thou people even had the brain cells or courage to step up to the plate (do you need a translation for that one?) and simply say " sorry, I totally misunderstood that part " . And yes sometimes non-whites DO want to be seperat, just as with some matters NON_Catholics want to be seperate from Catholics and Muslims most def want to be seperate from you idiots right now. It cuts down on the idiocy that is going on right now. And it most def cuts down on the 'oh this is for everyone' when that really means this is for all the non-blacks. Just look at TV shows and 'popular' magazines today. Cosmo claims to be for everyone, but they don't do makeup and hair tips that I as a BLACK woman can use. I can't put the same crap on my face and in my hair that a non-black can.. nor would I want to. > And the fact that you didn't get any support from this list is no surprise. > Hell, you made some of the most incredibly stupid statements I've ever > heard > in all the 3 yrs. I've been on lists like this. What a load of crap! No one > > 100 lbs. overweight is truly healthy. That's why it's called MORBID OBESITY > > lady...it shortens your life! When you get YOUR medical degree, fax me your school transcripts. Being a 100lbs overweight is indeed considered MORBID obesity. But that does not nec mean that one should jump the A train to surgery land. (need a translation yet?) One can be a larger size and STILL be healthy. But pull your head out of the sandn (0r from up your own ass) for a min. Face facts.. people are running to get this surgery for the wrong reasons and at the wrong time in thier lives. SOME people are viewing this surgery as yet another 'quick fix' to thier weight problems. Then they back that up with 'oh I HAVE to loose weight because I cant eat much " . when you CAN indeed defeat this surgery. A friend of mine is doing just that and she isn't even 6 months out from surgery yet. But she's eating high fat, high calories and not losing a thing... then calling me and going " what am I doing wrong " . If you think what I said was stupid, so be it. It is my OPINION and just like 'they' say.. opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.. U sure do, I can smell the stink from here. (yes that was uncalled for on my part, but you pissed me off). I don't live with my head in the sand. I didn't before my surgery, nor am I going to do so after it.
