Dear JenCzap -

Just wanted to say thanks for the well-wishes for my surgery on this past

Wednesday. I had the hysteroscopy and my doctor feels it went well. Once

he got in, he saw more scar tissue than expected and feels my AS was

moderate instead of mild, with one large synectia (sp?) in the upper right

side of my uterus. I have a balloon cather in for a week and am on HIGH

doses of premarin. It was a pretty bad day though, as I had a " vagral

response(?) " to the spinal anesthesia and got VERY nauseous and they

wouldn't let me leave the hospital for SEVERAL hours due to the vomiting.

Almost had to spend the night -- ugh! Other than feeling bloated and

tender and nauseous, I was okay. Then, last night, WHAM, the cramps hit BIG

TIME -- even though the doc said my uterus would try to rebel against the

balloon a bit, I hadn't had cramps like this since my old high school days.

Even the pain killers didn't help much. Thankfully, I saw the doc today and

he did an u/s to check the balloon and all is well and the cramps have

subsided, so now I guess I just hope the adhesions don't grow back. After

reading many posts here, I do wonder if I had the AS from my c-section,

since I had placenta previa and they had a hard time closing me up. Might

explain my miscarriage last fall if I had AS and didn't know it. Although

my periods were definitely lighter and shorter after my 2 d&cs related to

the miscarriage, so I am tending to think that was the cause. Guess I will

never know for sure. After reading some of your other posts, it sounds like

you have been through so much too. I guess we all have, and many of us have

endured such sad losses....I think I am DONE with this now. My dh said on

the way home from the hospital if this didn't work, we should just be happy

with our son and move on because he hates to see me go thru all this. The

way I was feeling that day, I tended to agree. I think we all know in our

hearts just how much is too much for each of us and when enough is enough

for us personally. Anyway, thanks for your concern!

Dawn,

I'm happy to hear your surgery went well and the cramping is

getting better. You really struck a chord with me when you said we

each know when enough is enough and how much we can go through. I

have been asking myself this a lot lately. Take care and please keep

us posted on how you are doing.

Dawn,

I'm glad to hear that your surgery went well, but sorry to hear your

recovery was so terrible. Luckily I've never had a reaction to

anesthesia, but I'm always worried about it because I can't think of

anything worse than feeling nauseous at the same time as waking up

groggy from a surgery! I think the key to keeping the pain under

control is to stay ahead of it with the meds. By the time you

actually feel pain the meds aren't as effective.

It's good to hear your Doc is monitoring you closely. I know what

you mean about not being able to take any more. I often feel in my

heart that I can't take any more, but I feel like I have no choice

but to keep fighting because I want a child so badly. I can't accept

that my husband and I weren't meant to create a life together, yet I

can't imagine surviving another loss.

I pray for you that you recover well and won't need any further

treatment!

Dawn,

Glad to hear your surgery went well. I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience with the anesthesia. Lets hope the cramps is a good sign that your endometrium is proliferating.

After reading your email, I think that you have some updates to your profile so please contact Ivana and let her know what to change. Her email is: marigagg@...

Tina,

I think I would agree with the others when they say that after your 4th surgery, its time to get an A list doctors opinion. Can you forward your history to Dr March?? I'm sure that he would be willing to tell you at least his opinion on your situation and as this is going to be your 5th surgery, can you at least postpone it until you get a more definite answer from an A list doctor?? Why don't you email one of the A list doctors for their recommendation or do a phone consult with one of them??

I am so sorry to hear that you are going through all this still but it is time to think more deeply into this surgery because it could (and should) be your last attempt.
