Guest guest
>>>> I would say get the calcium citrate, and take it. Get it with the magnesium, the D, and get the ipriflavones from soy. Stay away from carbonated beverages, caffiene, and get the exercise the bones need. Others on this list will tell you exactly what soy you need. If you can avoid the Fosamax, do so. >>>> I don't want to speak for alice, but i do want to clarify one thing - ISOFLAVONES are from SOY. IPRAFLAVONES are considered a herb and are synthetic and are for bone building. I personally would not suggest anyone add extra soy or isoflavones to their diet as there have been studies linking the extra soy to estrogen builders which cause breast cancer. but thats a whole other subject. What i and others suggest you take a Ipriflavone also known as Ostivone. It is a herb that has been involved in numerous studies and research in Europe and proven to help build bone and reduce breakdown. it is synthetic and does not cause any side effects. *IPRAflavone is a synthetic compound derived from phytoestrogens but do not react or act like estrogen in the body. Japan, Hungary and Italy now consider ipriflavone an approved treatment for osteoporosis. *ISOflavones are a form of phytoestrogen and act like weak estrogen in the body. only animal research has shown that a diet high in soy can improve bone. *info from Strong Women, Strong Bones by Miriam . Boron is another mineral you want to add to your calcium, along with D and K to boost the absorption. remember the magnesium needs to be in a 2:1 ratio to the calcium and preferably taken at a different time than the calcium. Guest guest
Magnesium taken AWAY from the calcium??? I take mine with my calcium and most of the calcium has it in there! How far away from the calcium? If you take the magnesium and calc at the same time, does that affect the absorbtion of the calc or just the magnesium? --- Alice The Loon Dr. Boone Dec. 28, 2000 On Sun, 30 Dec 2001 15:21:36 S.Rudnicki wrote: >>>>> .....remember the magnesium needs to be in a 2:1 ratio >to the calcium and preferably taken at a different time than the calcium. > >Sue >[frigid swVA] > > >Homepage: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Graduate-OSSG > >Unsubscribe: mailto:Graduate-OSSG-unsubscribe > > > > >
