I'm Debbie, 40 years old, had the Fobi Pouch Proceedure done Nov'00. Have gone from 322 to 180 and am still losing, currently at about 3- 4lbs a month. I dont have any cast in stone weightloss goal, but I would like my bmi to be in the " normal " range instead of " overweight " , but I've some so far, amazingly far health wise that I'm truly just grateful to be exactly where I am. Three years ago I wanted to do my surgery and my family talked me out of it. Unfortunately my body understood the urgency and I began heart problems and then had a stroke not long after that. I had to wait a year and a half to recover from all that to have surgery. This time I TOLD my family, I didnt ask their opionion about surgery. I cant begin to tell u how happy I am I did. (my guess is that all of you have had similar health challenges and understand without words) So now that I'm 14 months out and legitimately able to post, I need your help. A recent bone density test shows I'm in trouble (years of pre op 2ltr a day soda drinking doc said) He wants me on Fosomax. I read the insert to that drug, it scares me. I'm worried about what it might do to my pouch. Doc says since its not a steriod not to worry. Still, I dont even want to imagine an ulser on a 1oz tummy!!! Amyone in the list have experience with this drug or know anyone that has??? Anyone know of any other options/drugs to rebuild bone???
