Guest guest
I don't understand it. Why do some people continue to keepthier heads in the sand regardling the regaining issue. I was not speaking only of the RNY. And contrary to your opinion I am very familar with the biliopancraetic diversion DS surgery. I did extensive research prior to my WLS and chose the right surgery for myself. I am disputing the validity or effectiveness of the surgery. This is not about which surgery is the best. To clarify things........ was referreing to ANY and ALL types of weight loss surgery. Two of the post ops I received infomation from WERE IN FACT DS patients.( one five years and one four) Again, please don't tell me what I meant to say or which surgery I was referring to. I know exactly what I am talking about. I also do not consider proven research to be anecdotal. I also cannot fathom how you could possibly say regainig weight is not an issue. Although not common , IT is possible, it DOES happen. The only thing APPARENT is your abilty to ignore medical facts. Because you posted asking for people who failed themselves or had failed BPD/DS surgery to admit it and no one did..... you use that as proof. Ridiculous! That's why this forum is here. To express our OPINIONS not state medical falacies. In MY opinion, agree to disagree... why beat a dead horse? >>You are talking anecdotal medical evidence and you are talking about the RNY. I am >>talking about peer reviewed medical literature about actual studies about the BPD/DS. >>Also, as far as anecdotal evidence goes, I posted to these various lists about 6 months >>ago asking any long term weight gained BPD/DSer to come forward. None did! >>Dawn--far south Chicago suburban area >>Dr. Hess, Bowling Green, OH >>BPD/DS >>4/27/00 >>www.duodenalswitch.com >>267 to 165 5' 4 " >>size 22 to size 10 >>have made size goal >>no more high blood pressure, sore feet, or dieting! >>>Because you use the word " distal " , it's apparent you're familiar only with RNY. >>>With that surgery one can regain and regain easily, that's true. It isn't true for DS. >>>Study statistics. Talk to long-term postops. Regain is unheard of. >>>M
