Guest guest
I'm in NY and I have BC/BS - they cover as many test strips as my doc precribes (and he prescribes as many as I want) and for insulin, I don't owe much more after they pay their share. Depending on which one I'm getting, it's $15-$60 for 5 vials (I use pens) and they last me a long time. My 5 vials of Novolog have lasted me 7 months, and the Lantus presription has lasted 6 months. Good luck...hope you find one that will accept you...that works for you. -Jess NYS > > Hello I am looking into some health ins programs alot of companys dont > want to insure diabetics. Guest guest
This is an issue I think is about impossible to get around a Pre-existing waiting period from anywhere I have checked out so far. And the Insurances unless thru a job, from what I can see, are EXPENSIVE. Who has over $200 a month for Premiums? I just wish there was a Better solution... That is why I have been looking for other solutions since being removed off of Medicare, and told I could work since Aug. of last yr. I have been spending a lot of $$ on Insulin since then except for when someone has offered to send me a little excess to help me out. It is a Shame places like this, are so leary to help. But I guess it is because once you have Diabetic complication issues, it is expensive for them to help you. ~~TINA~~ -- Re: heath ins In a message dated 2/23/2006 5:55:46 P.M. Guest guest
If you get a job and take the group health insurance offered, I believe in all cases they have to cover you regardless. The difference between group insurance and individual insurance. But you need to take the insurance when you first become eligible... otherwise you are subject to underwriting. > > Hello I am looking into some health ins programs alot of companys dont > want to insure diabetics. Guest guest
-------------- Original message ---------------------- I was recently quoted $1750 per month by BC/BS for individual health insurance. If I could get it for $200 I would be most grateful.

Guest guest
The employers that provide insurance can find a way around the law that is supposed to keep people from having to worry about pre-existing conditions. I've heard several stories like this.
