my daughter loved her jumperoo. exersaucers are good to, i believe. we heard the same thing about walkers, but still used it once in a while. apparently they don't really help a child learn to walk and can be dangerous if they get caught in doorways etc. but we have a pretty open floor plan on the first floor of our house, so we used it down there. my daughter loved it. , NYRita <ptrita@...> wrote: So we aren't supposed to "overuse" bouncy seats

and swings...Have any of you found any really cool/fun toys to use in lieu of these things? Can you share your recommendations?I just bought my son a baby einstein jumper thing, similar to the Fischer Price Jumperoo. The weird thing about it is that the seat hole is huge! And he's not a small child! At least his head isn't pressing against anything, although with the hole that big he leans forward and bonks his head on the toy sun. His pediatrician gave us a general letter on baby care at 6 months recommending that we don't use the walkers. I've read that other places. It seems like we have to give up all the cool toys. Consequently, I have not given up the walker...This is the same doctor that told us his head shape would even out (at the 4 month visit) but has now all of the sudden changed his tune and told us it's a good idea to band him.

My son loves his Fisher Price Intellitainer. It is like an exersaucer. He doesn't like it as much as he did before he started crawling but he still loves it! I think the thing with the walker is it could tip if it is on an uneven surface or near stairs but if you are supervising your child then I'm sure it is fine. Good luck in your quest for cool toys. lisa 9 month old son, DOC band PS: I looked on their website to try and put the link so you could see it but I couldn't find it. We bought ours at Big Lots (as I saw it there and knew it was a great exersaucer that other places would have been more). We also bought it before he was born so I don't know if they still make it.Rita <ptrita@...> wrote: So we aren't supposed to "overuse" bouncy seats and swings...Have any of you found any really cool/fun toys to use in lieu of these things?
