For example, heating whey protein to temperatures above 140 degrees F (60 degrees C) results in denaturation. For this reason, cooking or baking with DP denatures the protein. In addition, repeated freezing and thawing of a protein solution can result in deanaturation, but simply exposing the powder to low temperatures does not cause denaturation. This does not mean that the amount of the protein is diminished. Denaturation can affect biological value (bioavilability) and may slow the digestion and absorption of the protein. Regardless, denatured protein still retains full nutritional value with regard to amino acid composition. And Designer Whey is a good source of all essential and non-essential amino acids; therefore, even if it is denatured, it is still a very high quality protein source. >> I get it Chrissie, but geez what a roundabout way of saying it. Either I am remedial or they need a better copywriter. I had to read it twice to try to sort out the seeming contradictions let alone the essense (grin). You know, I was wondering if any of you recall, I think there is a chicken soup and a mushroom soup protien mixture; I recall it called something like Camelot or some C word. It was part of a diet program years ago...the kind where kind of like Amway you could become a retaiiler of product if you wanted to. I remembe taking it around with me in powder form to which you added boiing water. I had the creamy chicken soup with little bits of chicken in it. It tasted good. It was whitish in color and thickish and tasty. I don't recall any of the stats, just that three or four a day of these was supposed to give you all your nutrients. Anyone??? love, ceep
