Guest guest
We've had great luck with our painted band (DOC Band). I used the Krylon spray paint (fast dry - 15 minutes) found at Wal-Mart. I didn't want to lose much time without our son wearing his band, so the fast drying worked well. I also bought the clear Krylon. We used stickers; however, I spent a lot of time super gluing them periodically as they peeled at the edges. The best thing that I found was contact paper. I had my artist friend draw and color marker the designs and then we cut them out and placed them on the band. After 3 1/2 months, they are still on and looking great. After putting the designs on I clear coated the band about 4 times and then every couple of days after that for about a week. I highly reccommend painting the band. It was amazing how the "stares" changed after that - instead of pity stares, we got curious stares about what was ON the band not WHY he was wearing it. Good luck! I just got my son fitted with his starband helmet. I was disappointed because they had told me it would be a cute design. Well, it's just plain white. I would like to paint it and maybe put some stickers on it. Does anyone have any advice on what type of paint works best on these helmets? Also, any cute ideas for decoration would be great!Thanksle EramoOlathe KansasLuke 11 months old (1 day in helmet)
Guest guest
Hi le, I used Acrylic paint on 's band. It worked great. I put stickers on it, the clear kind. They seemed to work the best. I have some pics on the site. You should check out other bands to see if you can get idea's. I did an M & M theme because loves chocolate cake....Good luck.
