Guest guest
Zanna, when you do get yourself to a doctor, I'd request your pancreas checked out, as well. That can be done through a blood test. I haven't admitted it yet, but I get what sounds the same type pain you have been having. I get it every so often, and it's miserable. I don't know what causes it, but have suspected gall bladder, pancreas, diverticulitis, or simply a bad case of trapped intestinal gas. Sometimes it lasts several days but I havent' had it last as long as you've had.once it went on for about a week. I tend to have abdominal bloating when it occurs, too. At the very least, if you can get those organs ruled out, that's a good thing I've had pancreatitis twice and been told the pain is worse than kidney stones. I don't want to ever have a kidney stone so I can compare, though! With the acute pancreatitis, I had to be heavily drugged all the time in order to withstand the pain. In the hospital, the nurse would come in well before the last shot of demerol in the butt wore off.I never had to ask for it. I hadn't realized this before, but being on Prednisone and perhaps some of these other meds can make one more susceptible to pancreatitis. I doubt that's your problem, because you'd not be able to stand it-period. When I had it, I honestly thought I was going to die. Still, it's worth checking these things out thoroughly. That internist should be fully capable of checking out the possibilities for your pain, and he's nice and kind and interested, so I hope you go! J. I have two lab orders that my rhuemy had given me to have done when I came back, so I will do that tomorrow after my treatment. I am not even so sure I should have my treatment tomorrow or not. I am still not convinced that there is not something wrong that is related to the treatment. I hate to say it but I am pretty sure it is not trapped gas. I don't usually have a problem of it being 'trapped'!!! It gets itself free pretty often!!! LOL. Zanna

Guest guest
Hi Zanna, LIT is where the inject the woman with some white blood cells from the husband to stimulate the immune system to 'block' the baby from attack. That is very interesting. I have never heard of that. Boy the things they can do these days..... Do you have any children yet?? I will say a prayer for you. Dex is dexamethasone another steroid with less side effects. I don't even bother with my local rheumies anymore. They were shockingly uninformed. I didn't realize that there was another steroid choice. I will have to look this one up. As far as rhuemies being shockingly uniformed-you said it, girl!!!! My next step now that I have my reproductive issues addressed is to go to an academic center like Hopkins to see if I have myositis, polymyositis etc. and meniere's disease. I hope you are dx soon. The waiting and not knowing is the hardest part. My hearing loss improved greatly with prednisone. good to 'hear'. I couldn't resisist. LOL. You take care of yourself and get that dx so you can start to heal. Where do you live??? God bless, Zanna Zanna's myositis page
