It's utterly f***en ridiculous. They do more harm then good. Just my 3 cents worth. netty

Guest guest
> My concern is that according to AA members many people have TRAITS that are > associated with " alcoholism " . Twelve Steppers will say that " normal " human emotions are a the " diseased " mind of an alcoholic. I used to believe that nonsense for the longest time of how my childhood feelings of abandonment and the emotional fallout of the abuse I suffered as a child was part of my " disease " . My co-worker, who is still in the " program " , always uses the term, " ...but I am an ADDICT! " , to excuse why he may feel self-conscious when he first starts dating a woman and fears that the new lady may not care for him the way he may for her or to explain away any other emotion. I have heard other similarities when I was in the " rooms " of how nervous a person is at a job interview or the disappointment one feels when being passed over for a promotion or during financial difficulty. These things are natural feelings for any person regardless of alcohol or drug use. Some emotions may be heightened during actual chemical usage but none of these feelings are part of a " disease " . http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/aaornatwelvestepcults
