Guest guest
Hi, everybody. I just wanted to introduce myself and my daughter Sophie. Sophie is 6 months old tomorrow and just got her DOC band last Friday. We have been doing our best to stick to the schedule but sometimes it is oh so hard when she is tired and screaming. We are dreading Friday night...the first night she is supposed to sleep in it. We are going to be at my mom's so we aren't sure how it will go being in a different crib with a helmet on her head!!! Anyway, we are hoping that she takes to her band. Atthe moment she really does not like it. Please tell me it gets better!!
Guest guest
Although my ds didn't have too hard a time adjusting to his helmet, I can tell you that now he doesn't even notice it's there AT ALL. In fact, we are having problems with him bashing his head into things when he's not wearing it. I think your dd will soon figure out that it will save her from a few bumps and bruises. The first few days are tough for some babies, but most of them get used to it. Hope it goes well for you! Guest guest
Hi , welcome to the group. it definitely gets easier. just take it a day at a time. sleeping can take a little longer. but once you get to 23 hours per day it is easier because you're not taking it on and off so much. take care. -christine mom to sydney/ 13 mo/ starband grad 10-06 > > Hi, everybody. Guest guest
got her band two weeks ago and she doesn´t bother at all, only when you put it on and off. But the rest of the day she is happy and she even has started crawling because she uses her helmet to push herself up. a mommy to plagio Starband 02/09/07 --- Candace Mayer <mommyluvset@...> escribió: > Although my ds didn't have too hard a time adjusting > to his helmet, I can tell you that now he doesn't > even notice it's there AT ALL. Guest guest
just got his band on Monday, 2/19 for his brachy. He was a year old on 2/8, so I'm hoping that allthough he's a little older we'll get good results. So far the first night he slept in his helmet about 6 hours then I took it off because he was crying. Through out the day, he doesn't seem to mind it. Like , he doesn't like getting it put on or taken off. Last night he cried a bit, after a few times getting up I took it off. But tonight whether he cries or not, he has to keep the DocBand on. from what I've read from this group, it does get better. Good Luck with Sophie.
