Thanks for this useful info!! Think I will do this also, I have had lots of different blood workups and never really got to see what the results were or what they tested for, and all the doctors notes will be interesting [probably wrote down I was a luney for being soo upset! lol] only know from the blood serum and Immuno that I have Auto Immune CU!! I have also been printing all this great info off and catagorizing in a binder so that when I go back to Doctor I will make sure I get more tests done.

Thanks again!

Medical Records and stuff

Hi Gang, After reading Carol's message I thought I would again remind everyone how important it is that you get ahold of your medical records and read them carefully. If you have a question about something you don't understand in them call and ask someone. Alena's medical records revealed very important things that when pieced together made it more clear Mastocytosis needed to be explored again, however each piece of information alone didn't mean much. Also they completely missed that her lead level was high (go figure) and I am sure each one of us could write in about something that was missed. These medical records belong to us and we have every right to read what is in them. Also, ask not only for the doctors notes, but copies of tests run, anything you can get your hands on. In Alena's case, (all my girls now) I keep binders with protective sheets and have their medical records in chronological order. I advise this to all the new moms on the masto egroup list. And once you have your medical records remember to ask for them again a year later. I use the girls birthdays as a reminder to reask for their medical records.

Anyway, off my soapbox now but just want to remind everyone how very important it is.
