Guest guest
Dear , How do we get our records? Do we call the Drs. office and ask for them to mail them or should we set a time to pick them up? Will they ask us why we want them? Will they only release them to another Doctor? I am going to do this, but I would feel better knowing the correct steps to get them. I love it when you get on your soapbox. Something good always comes out of it. At least for me. Guest guest
Oh Lordy, I am afraid that will happen. I am not under a Dr. care right now because of insurance. (none) So I guess I will have to brave the off. mgr. I understand about them charging. I will call the Derm. that was in charge of my hives if I have to have them sent to another Dr. Put me on your prayer list. I am healthy with the hives under control and hope I won't have to see a Dr. anytime soon. Love Carolyn

Guest guest
Put me on your prayer list too. I am healthy and have the hives under control. I just worry about the Dr. that gave me the medicine that I was allergic to and had to go to the hospital and developed hives. But I am going to try. I need to know. He will probably think I want to sue him. But, I'm not. Love Carolyn

Guest guest
Dear Jackie, I am getting too old for surprises, but I guess It would not hurt to get ready. I have always been so healthy until the cancer and hives. All my life I have used common sense but hives do not apply. There is no sense to them. Guest guest
Hi Carolyn, I kind of had a run around to get my girls because we have moved, switched doctors and changed insurance (LOL not) However, begin by calling your doctor (you will have to call each one individually) and ask their procedure to get ahold of your medical records. Some doctors charge a fee, some don't. A couple of important things to remember are 1) THESE RECORDS BELONG TO YOU 2)Ask for ALL that they have, if you don't they might not include doctors comments or the labs 3)remember to ask EVERY doctor you have EVER seen as they keep individual records. Hope this helps GO GET UM!!!!! Much Love, Re: Medical Records and stuff > Dear , How do we get our records? Guest guest
Carolyn, Some doctors will give them to you right there before you leave. It is best if you get them directly from the doctor because he has no clue how the office works. If the office manager gets involved they start asking why. In my case, the records were free if I was taking them to another doctor but they would cost $1/page if I wanted them for myself. So I lied...they lie to me and I lied right back. What goes around comes around!! If thye insist releasing them to another doctor, pick a doctor who is friendly and will give them to you.
