Thanks Vicki!

I really like the idea of buying cases to fill up with stuff from Big Lots! Also I made a quilt for my parents 50th anniversary and transferred family photos on it. They loved it! Both my parents are gone now, so I have the quilt back. Also frames are a great idea! Something to use those 's coupons on too! And now that I think of it, I should just start using my Joanne's coupons to collect gifts for the next year!

Hi Vickie..

Do you have a " Big Lots " near you? Wow, what you can save in money in

that place is amazing.

****I was reading somewhere that to maintain our support network we

should have a monthly date set to meet with friends or family ...... how

to do that and keep it simple? *****

Yep, all meet at one restaurant like Home Town Buffet... or any place...

it's just the idea of getting out with people you enjoy being with.

I went in to JoAnns fabric place and saw ready made quilts.... throws

actually that were pretty darn neat. One of them, someone had place

there family pictures on it. It was really beautiful and if I'm

remembering correctly the quilt was $30.

I want to do the same for my girls...next year. Something that during

there winter months they can snuggle up with.

Frames are always a good gift to give. s brothers has a sale

going on right now that will last another month. Buy one frame and get

another one for 1 penny. Can't beat that and they already have great

prices to begin with.

My girls love the little cases I buy at Wal-mart in the makeup section.

On sale they're around $6.00 and hold a lot of stuff. I put in the body

puff in a bright color, bubble bath, smelly lotion for there hands, some

pretty barrettes, and shampoo. This is always a hit with them. Most of

the items can be bought at Big Lots so it would be a lot cheaper and

when they pull everything out of the case, well it will fit a Barbee

doll... or maybe crammed in there.. LOL

Another place to shop on line is eBay. There are aways great buys there

and some hard to find items.

Ok, those are my suggestions... oh, almost forgot. Those meals

everyone is talking about... Well, how about a potluck! If everyone

brought one dish think how simple it would all be. Draw names for who

will host the next dinner... that person doesn't need to do a thing

except supply the home, the dinner ware and the dish washer for clean

up. That way, the whole family has a get together that won't stress

out one person all the time. We tend to avoid having get togethers at

our homes because it's too much to think about... this way, it's not.

Just have your whole family chip in with the dusting and vacuuming....

then rest.

Ok, now I'm done

Vicki... That's pretty much what we do in my family...everyone brings something for a holiday dinner. We let each other know what we'd like to bring...everything from vegetable dishes to rolls to appetizers and dessert. I never offer to make the dessert! :-) Annette

That is really neat! I want to make some mini-crazy-quilts this year. I love the look of crazy quilts!

Vickie

Quilts are wonderful, loving gifts, Vickie. I truly

admire anyone who does quilting. I love my GF's

gifts...she gave me a lovely mini quilt this year. My

walls are covered with her work. And her

mini-bears...I do not know how she sews these tiny

bears...I own 4 of them, each more delightful than the

other. She's so talented!
