Guest guest
Hello, my son, Ethan is 10 months old and he was just diagnosed with Plagiocephaly and Torticollis. He was 6 weeks premature and I have a left half Unicornuate Uterus. So his growth was very restricted while in utero. His head is very slanted, his pediatricians seemed to brush it off that his head was crooked and he could not sit and his neck tilted. They would tell me that he would eventually catch up and his head would shape out on its own. I didn't know what other route to take if my doctors didn't see the problem. So I found an ad in Preemie magazine for Cranial Tech. I went to see them and they told me his head is very bad and the torticollis has now migrated into his back, hence the reason he cannot sit. If gone untreated, they told me the torticollis will migrate into his hips and he will not walk. I am seeing my pediatrician next week to get the prescription for his band treatment to be started and get into a physical therapist for his torticollis. We had been told before that since he was a preemie, he would be behind in some motor skills, but at 10 months and not being able to sit, he was too behind. So I took matters into my own hands, I knew something was wrong. I am overwhelmed by all this info I am having to take in. Would like other parents that have been there for advice. I am just glad I found the ad for Cranial Tech. He was evaluated and in no time was diagnosed with what I already knew was true. Thank goodness we found him some help. They told us it isn't too late, physical therapy for the torticollis and band treatment for his plagio should do it. Thanks for listening.
