And why does the price change immediately if there's a raise in price per barrel of crude, or something like this but when things are fixed it doesn't go down for months? Things that make you go hmmmm. sky

Guest guest
The situation with gasoline is pure gauging (of course in_my_ not_so_popular_opinion opinion). If you remember the start of the Gulf war the price jumped up to $3, even though there was no affect of the war. Look at the present situation. We are at war, but the production of oil is the same (I mean foreign oil), but the prices were going up, because <<we depend on foreign oil>>. Now after Katrina, we started depend on local oil, and even though we do not know, if we going to have shortage of gasoline, the prices are significantly up. That reminded me of something in the past. It was a TV news program (20/20,or something). They were talking about water supply to the victims of earthquake in Los Angeles, and mentioned that some people making money by selling bottled water by tripling the price. And then they moved to Japan to see how Japanese people were handling shortage of water during earthquake. They asked a salesman who was selling bottled water, and he said: <<we would never overcharge people, because it is inhuman to take an advantage of people’s misery>>. His answer stock in my mind, and his picture is in front of me. He was not a youngster, round-shouldered with hands sought hard manual labor. ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- Reply-To: diabetes_int Date: Wed, 31 Aug 2005 14:43:30 -0700 >Sky, I just came back from Safeway and when I went inside for veggys >and chicken, the price of gas was $2.79.9.
