Guest guest
It is pretty cold, wet, and windy down here. I was freezing my cha chas off earlier. Don't laugh but it was 49 degrees and windy and wet and man that was cold. I was trying to walk out of Walmart and of course had to park a mile away...... Today was a day from heck. I took Brody to school, the repairman came to fix the wash machine which there was nothing wrong with. He said it probably leaked because the bowl was off balance and it leaked out the back. Well, that was 65.00 lost. Then I ran down to Tom's farms and got some home made licorice flavored taffy and some divinity for my parents package. Came home taped it up, threw it in the car and picked up Brody, went to the bank, mailed packages (that one to Canada took forever to process-wink, wink Dawn) and then to get Brody's hair cut. He was so good at all the places. No fussing at all so we went to Walmart and had lunch at the Mcs. Then we shopped for a couple of hours. I am just about done. I still have a few people to buy for. The hard ones.....ugh. Robin's sister left a message and said that Kenji was going in for an MRI but to not call the hospital because he isn't getting much rest because too many people were calling. I have only called once. I am quite worried. Fevers have been going on for 2 1/2 weeks. He is getting weaker and weaker. I am scared. I spoke to my parents today. They are well. My mom is not sending me butterscotch fudge this year. She has made me that ever since I was a little girl because I was allergic to chocolate as a kid. She mailed it to me every year since I have been away. Last year she didn't mail it and I literally cried when I opened my box. She said she isn't cooking anymore for anybody. She is too tired. I told her that I wanted two batches this year and she sent me the recipe. It just isn't the same.......it feels like a part of me is gone. A tradition lost!!!! Sounds silly over some stupid fudge but I looked more forward to that than any gifts. Zanna

Guest guest
No, it's not silly. I do understand why you're so disappointed. More over the tradition than the actual fudge, I'm sure. Who knows, maybe it will taste even better when you make it. ) No, I wanted the fudge!!! LOL. I tried making some last year and it just wasn't the same. What a day you had!! Why didn't you park in the handicapped spot at Walmart?? There were none left!! Actually, I did park in a handicapped space infront of Garden but I had to go in the front door because I was returning some stuff! Then when I left, I was going to go out the Garden way and I forgot. .. You're nuts (in a good way, of course)! Yes, yes, I am!!! Oh my, that licorice flavoured taffy sounds divine. Was it something that your parents had while visiting and fell in love with? I love anything licorice flavoured. I love that taffy too. My dad just loves licorice. Mom hates it so she won't eat it. I buy her the divinity. She said that it reminds her of stuff she had as a kid. I wish I had known you liked that, I would have put some in your package. Next time! As for Kenji, just keep praying for him and the rest is in God's hands. Once they determine what's wrong with him, I'm sure he'll improve very quickly, but this is the long, drawn-out part. Keep us posted on his condition. It is crazy. He has been in the hospital for a week now and they just did an MRI and spinal tap yesterday. I haven't heard the results yet. His headaches have not let up and he is on morphine now. He has become sensitive to light and is throwing up. His fevers have ceased though. He is getting weaker and weaker though and is sleeping all the time. I am scared to death for them. Zanna
