Guest guest
, when I had cancer in my right leg the Dr. told me that women have (older) have poor blood movement in their legs and feet. I also had the crazy leg throbing at night. My liver enzymes were up. I ate bananas and it helped some. I also found a product called Venastat, It is for leg health. It has helped me with the circulation and swelling of my feet. It is sold over the counter. I take it and also a multi-vitamin. It is clinically-proven safe and effective. You may want to check into it. Love Carolyn

Guest guest
Hi . Bone and muscle pain can be from a number of things. Some of the more likely: low calcium and/or potassium levels - increasing intake should help (think bananas and calcium supplements); this can be a side effect of some meds, including pred mastocytosis - if there is a possibility that you have masto, this type of pain is quite common pred use or recent pred use - from bone density loss due to pred use; also when coming off pred, some people often have pain for up to several months Hope your pain goes away soon! Air hugs, Jackie Life is tough, but I'm tougher. _________________________________________________________________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com
Guest guest
Hi , Jackie mentioned the most likely cause of your bone and muscle pains, but we aware that it is also a symptom of Lupus, Fibromyalga, and other serious conditions. Guest guest
I have had problems with my legs recently too. I constantly feel like I want to stretch them out, and tend to get foot cramps. I have figured it was from lack of exercise, slight weight gain, and something to do with hives/meds. It also could be coming from diminishing estrogen, as I have heard that many pre-menopausal women (I'm 49) have a lot of aching. Plus I have always ached a lot in my joints with the hives. I never want to complain because I feel like a complaining old arthritic woman, and to top it off, the hives are so much better right now, but the gastrointestinal problems have been a lot worse recently. I may try Carolyn's Venestat too. And the oral gastrocrom. What's a few more meds? As to quote the late Gilda Raddner (nna Danna) " It just goes to show you, it's always something! Guest guest
Hi! I get the kind of muscle pain you've been describing in my legs right before my period. It's been happening as a PMS symptom only recently; I'm 48, so maybe it does have something to do with hormones. Do you notice it at certain times of your cycle? Guest guest
, Don't know if this helps, but I suffer bone and leg pain too. I complained about it so much that they did an open muscle biopsy. I have never had any problems like this before the hiving started 5 years ago. They found through blood work that I had an l-carnitine defiency, which affects your muscles. Also, they did a test for lactic acidosis...and mine was sky high. No cure for that one. After biopsy, they also found urticarial vasculitis in the deep, deep tissues. So...maybe ask your doc to run an l-carnitine blood test. It is common. Also, my help came from going to the Muscular Dystropy Assoc. Clinic since the docs just kept ignoring all my symptoms. From there, they referred me to my rheumatologist, etc. I have had the best of luck with them. (you see, their docs do not have to answer to ins companies to stay business). They were the most proactive. End result, they diagnosed my pain ad autoimmune myopathy; metabolic defiencies and possible mitochondrial disease. My concern is that " what if our hiving causes all these other problems? " I was not born like that. Hope this helps, some. J.

Guest guest
-- kelly i dont post on here very often but, i started with hives about two and a half years ago. After many (about 20) doctors and every med under the sun I got my hives under control. I am now on dapsone and plaquenil and the hives are suppressed unless I have to take an antibiotic then they tend to come back full force..But about a year ago I started with severe bone and joint pains. I had been on prednisone for a year before that so the doctors blamed it on the pred. The problem is still here and I have been to several reumatologist before finding one I liked. They could not see any swelling while doing a physical exam of the joints and basically thought I was nuts until they did lots of bloodwork and my c-reactive protein and my sed rate kept coming back elevated then they apologized because they said there had to be an inflammatory process going on.. I have been tested for every strange disease they can think and they cant pinpoint anything specific. I have tried all kinds of anti inflammatories with no results. Now they are wanting to try methotrexate, but im not too keen on that idea. They just keep saying there is something going on but they dont know what. Could be some disease that is not being detected yet. Lots of the inflammatory disease take a long time to show up full blown. Mine tends to be much worse when at rest also and sometimes have a hard time sleeping due to the pain. I suggest you find a good reumatologist to see. They should at least run a c-reactive protein and a sed rate. These show inflammation in the body. But also on a different note Lipitor is known to also cause these type of symptoms, so maybe coming off of that to see is an idea to discuss with your doctor. You said maybe it is still the CU even though I am not breaking out. Please, Please, I pray, it is not that. It's about 2 months, I think, that I have been hive free. It is such a relief not breaking out and taking all those meds; and now I can eat all those foods that I was sensative to before. I made home made Ravoli last week and my family was eleated. They finally got their cook back. Love, P.S. I'm going to Walmart this afternoon and get the Venastat that Carolyn suggested.
