Guest guest
Hi, Have you contacted a lawyer to get this moving for you? I have one and he answers all my questions about timelines. Good luck maybe you should try a lawyer and i hope you start feeling better le SSD denied again 2nd time I am really really bummed right now. I just got a denial letter from SSD. Again. This is my 2nd denial. I was told by the case manager that this would be before an administrative law judge, but it was NOT!!! It was a decision written by a regional commissioner. I immediately called the local SSD office and they said it could take anywhere from 6 months to a year to get before an ALJ. What has been other's experience with this? It's already been a year and a half since I quite working and I applied a year ago in January for SSD. The letter states that my condition is not severe enough to keep me from working. I have a variant of EDS.... arrgghh!!! Bonnie

Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, I too was turned down the first time from SSD, my appeal is in progress, I hired a disability attorney that specializes in SSD. SSD stated on my first denial that I could climb ropes, ladders and scaffolds. I don't think so after 9 surgeries between both knees, lower spine and multiple one's on my shoulders. My Dr never said this. It was a total fabrication on their part. I was an ICU RN. I have been unable to work since March 2002. Applied for SSD in Feb2001. It is a very slow process, I've seen snails move faster! Don't give up. Go before the Judge next but with an attorney. They told you wrong at SSD. The first application and the first appeal after denial are through SSA. The third is before the Judge. These people do everything to keep from giving you and us the money we have earned and so desparetely need! Hang in there. Sincerely, PS, it will take an attorney to get you an appointment before the Judge and maybe they can get it sooner. I live in Va. SSD denied again 2nd time I am really really bummed right now.
