Hi- I don't know if I missed a prior post- but I wanted to try to answer some of your questions- and ask a few

Why won't your insurance pay for the surgeries?- Dr I should be able to classify them as not realted to fertility- and it should be paid- No? Did Dr I tell you only a 30% chance of conception?- Or was it someone else?

I saw a WELL respected RE here and was told to have a hysterectomy- I was told that after my loss at 23 weeks I had 50% chance of anotehr late loss- BUT I had seen really BAD Dr's-

I too decided I couldn't put myself through it again- I had rotten luck- and a rotten attitude- and I believed those Dr's- SO I decided to pursue adoption- and also surgery because I was in pain- My AS wasn't severe- it was moderate- but it was cleared fairly easily with 1 hyst/lap- I was very lucky- and that seemed to be the change in my luck because just 2 months after my adopted daughter arrived my bio son did. They are the light of my life.

Take your situation one step at a time- only you know what you can handle- though I bet you'll suprise yourself. This is a TOUGH group of ladies :)

Has anyone seen Dr. Indman? Has anyone been diagnosed with severe

Asherman's & can talk to me about why I should go ahead with the

expensive surgeries, which of course my health coverage won't cover,

for an outcome of 30% chance of conception following that. No to

mention, no guarantees of carrying to term. Having lost Jake at year

ago, at 31 weeks, I don't know if I'm emotionally able to deal with

another loss of that nature and such a terrible chance of conception

following such an expensive procedure. Please help, I'm so confused.

Part of me wants to try the surgery other parts just want a healthy

happy baby. God, why did this happen to me?

Kolleen,

First I want to welcome you to the group and tell you how very sorry

that I am that you lost your son Jake. I can't imagine the pain that

his loss must have been for you. I have had 3 losses myself but was

lucky enough to have a daughter after the first 2 losses. My third

loss was especially hard because I carried her to 19 weeks and then

due to an incompetent cervix delivered her. She was born alive and we

were able to hold her until she died. It is something that I will

never forget or completely get over. I was fortunate enough to have

my other daughter which really helped me through the tough times so I

can't imagine how painful it has been for you. There are a lot of

members who have seen Dr. Indman and have had success with him and I'm

sure that they will respond to you soon. Each person responds

differently to treatment and there are no guarantees on outcome but

you have chosen one of the best to help you. You mentioned that your

surgeries won't be covered by insurance but many of us here including

myself were able to get even an HMO to pay for surgery because it

should not be considered fertility treatment only. I think there are

some tips on getting insurance to pay in the files or database

section. There are also many members here who have had severe AS and

are either pregnant now or have already had their baby so it is not

impossible. I have severe AS also and was given the same odds as you

were except that Dr. Olive told me that the 30% was actually lower

than what he thought the odds were because that number takes into

account that there may be blocked tubes and that can be overcome with

IVF. Which way to proceded is hard to decide especially if your

insurance won't cover the expenses for surgery. You then have to

decide where your money would be better spent. There is also a sub

group of this one that is for surrogacy and it is a fairly new group.

If you are interested please let me know and I will send you an invite

to join. I wish you good luck with your decision and hope that it

helps a little to know that you are not alone.
