PS: on the subject of " flying teeth or itchy crawlers " how

about " them there chiggers " in the midwest !!!!

We have those nasty things here in southern New Jersey as well! I have had

chicken pox as age 26 and various other itchy bites and rashes but nothing,

NOTHING, comes close to the massively intense itch caused by chigger bites.

About 4 years ago when we were scouting the land for our new house I apparently

stepped in a nest - let me tell you! I was covered in those things! I just

wanted to be put in a comma until they went away. Man how nasty!

Here in southern New Jersey we have lots of swamp land and are close to

both the sea and the Delaware Bay hence we get lots of bugs. One year I counted

7 different species of biting insects that came out one after the other during

the spring/summer. Even the knats bite here.

We have these nasty jumbo flys called Green Heads that can bite right

through denim. They attack in packs and have actually chased out car before! The

railroad workers have to wear Avon Skin-So-Soft which is the only thing they

found to protect them.

The thing that really amazed me is that I grew up in northern New Jersey

and these bugs weren't up there. New Jersey isn't that darn big. It's really

surprising how different the nature can be just moving an hour away.

Hugs,

B.
