Guest guest
Hi Molly, I was Kaplan's patient when he was head of immunology at Stoneybrook Univ. Hosp, here on Long Island. My present doc was under him there. (Hope not she's a gal!) LOL He's the guru of CU. If you live near him now, I think it worth your while to get his take on your condition. He's very dry, but pleasant enough. After one visit he changed my meds as needed over the phone, and I saw an assistant every so often. I felt much safer in his care, than I do with my present doc. She more or less uses the same proticol as he and goes to all his seminars. In my heart of hearts, I believe there's just so much these docs can do. They're only treating a symptom, and have just so many meds that the drug companies have to offer. Our biggest hope is that in looking to cure some major disease, they'll come across something that will also work for CU. Kind of like coming in the back door. Anyway that's about all I can relate in regard to Kaplan, as you can see he didn't cure me. I've had this condition on and off for 9 years. My last remission lasted 2 years. I thought it was all over! Lots of Luck! Be well, Molly. Hold in there. Plenty of caring folks here with alot of knowledge. Be well. Hugging you in my heart.
