Hi everyone!

Mike and I returned late last night from onbug where we went to meet

with Sara and a new doctor there that she hadn't see before. JBeth had told me

about him and it took multiple referrals and waiting from August til now to get

in to see him. In fact, you can't make an appt. to see him without a doctor

referring you.

Her appt was at 4 and we left his office after 6. He was everything that you

could look for in a doctor. He was totally familar with EDS, things that seem

to go hand in hand with it, aware of the emotional piece of it all, offered to

help with things at the university, make referrals, had a great sense of

humor (told her that her problem was that she should have gotten a different

mother as I had given too many things genetically!) and was just great all

around.

He gave her some prescriptions that we are hoping will really help. Boy, I

hope we are on the right track for her now. He addressed so many different

issues

and the history that he took covered everything that I could possibly think

of . I don't think she has ever had such a great visit with a doctor before. He

even OFFERED to call the university about her medical withdrawal denial from

that class first semester!

JBeth, I don't know how to begin to thank you . Your name did come up and he

was amazed that we knew you!! I thnk he was pretty impressed with the EDS

support system. We are so grateful to you and to Dr Pence , her wonderful

allergist who got her in to see him... when he won't even try to get his own

wife in

to see him!! Who said that good doctors had to come from big cities!?!?

Take care everyone!
