What is considered mild vs. severe?

I am new to this group and my husband and I have a concern about our

son's head shape. We had a flattening occur with my older son,

however, it corrected itself by the time he was 4 months old. My

second son's head is better since we first noticed a problem at 2

months (he's now 3 months), but it is still obvious that the back right

is flattened. It still seems mild in comparison to lots of the

photographs I've seen on this group's page, but I just don't know. I

have a call in to our pediatrician's office to see if they want me to

bring him in, but I thought someone here might could clear up my

question of what is considered mild and what is considered severe and

at what point do you go the helmet or banding route (not sure what the

banding is)? I instinctively started changing his napping position

during the day and have been doing more tummy time and holding him more

as well as waiting until he falls asleep at night and turning his head

to the other side in attempts to get pressure off the flat side. Good

to know I was doing something right. Any help with knowing whether I

need to prepare myself for treatment would be great.

Thanks! Lara
