Guest guest
<< From: " Valued Compaq Customer " <ruf-caimi@...> I put a cap on Mom, the other night in class the professor got mad at me for capping Mom and Grandmom. I told him to deal with it, some terms should always be capped. He only gave me a B- for my paper and probably my big mouth. >> I also cap certain words, like Mom and Dad when they are the subject I am talking about. I think that Mom and Dads and Grandparents have *earned* their right to be acknowledged that way! Next time tell your professor to stick a sock in his cap! (giggle) Question for everyone: Who thinks that these words should be capped? For example: Did Connie go to the grocery store? Did mom go to the grocery store? or Did Mom go to the grocery store? We cap " Connie's " name, why shouldn't " Mom " be capped also when it is used the same way? When Connie is our subject: Connie lives in Oregon State. Should we not cap Oregon? Of course we do. (Did I make sense to anyone?) Shrug, my opinion, ~ =)
